EUFCN Location Award

The award for best European filming location

The EUFCN Location Award is the annual prize for European filming locations, organized by EUFCN.

Each year, EUFCN members have the opportunity to submit one location from a film or a TV series shot in their country and released that particular year. In 2020 EUFCN introduces the Location Award Jury, a five-member jury of distinguished professionals that selects the five locations competing for the Award.

The general public has then the chance to vote for their favourite location from the shortlist. One lucky winner is picked among the voters and wins a trip to the winning location.

EUFCN Location Award 2023

Inis Mór is the winner of the EUFCN Location Award 2023. The isolated and rugged Irish island was a key location for The Banshees of Inisherin.

EUFCN Location Award 2022

Chiladou Beach wins the EUFCN Location Award 2022. The Greek landscape emerged as one of the protagonists of Ruben Östlund’s Triangle of Sadness

EUFCN Location Award 2021

Cahir Castle, one of Ireland’s largest and best-preserved castles, is the winner of the fifth edition of the EUFCN Location Award. The castle served as a key setting for David Lowery’s film The Green Knight.

The Pažaislis Church and Monastery Complex in Kaunas (Lithuania) is crowned Best European Filming Location of 2020 for helping to recreate the splendid world of Catherine the Great

The island of Corfu wins EUFCN Location Award 2018, in recognition of the key role it played in the TV series The Durrells.

The City of Gorlitz wins Best Filming Location of the decade, for playing the title role in Wes Anderson’s film The Grand Budapest Hotel.
