EUFCN Location Awards 2025: Meet the Jury!
The European Film Commissions Network (EUFCN) is honoured to announce the Jury for the ninth edition of the EUFCN Location Awards. The annual competition celebrates outstanding achievements in the world of filming locations in Europe and showcases the incredible talent that contributes to the magic of filmmaking since 2017.
Alessandro Bonino (Production Supervisor at Wildside, a Fremantle company, ITALY), Andrea Keener (Location Manager, Board Member of the LMGI, USA), Gail McQuillan (Head of TV Production, Blueprint Pictures, UK), Sue Quinn (Supervising Location Manager, Member of the LMGI, UK), and Caroline von Kühn (Executive Director of Oxbelly, GREECE) will evaluate all submissions by the EUFCN members, focusing on the significant role of each location in the story and its remarkable impact on the audiovisual work.
‘’The suspense is now ON! Five exceptional film professionals with vast experience, invaluable insights and discerning judgment are undertaking the hard task of evaluating the thirteen locations submitted by the EUFCN members. Representatives of the vast and spectacular European locations, the hidden gems in unexpected parts of our continent, these locations will make the work of our Jury quite challenging this year.
We are grateful to all our Jury members and partners who support us in doing what we know best: advocating for the complex and collaborative work between film professionals, Film Commissions and local authorities when Filming Europe’’, underlines Venia Vergou, the Manager of the EUFCN.
Every year EUFCN members submit one location from their territory where a feature film or a series was shot and released with international distribution within a specific period. All submitted locations are then evaluated by the Jury which consists of five distinguished professionals from the film industry. Based on a set of criteria set by the EUFCN, during this first phase of the competition, the Jury selects the shortlist of the five finalist locations.
The shortlist of the five finalists will be revealed on December 9, 2025.
The second phase of the competition begins when the Jury evaluates the five finalists, based on a more thorough set of criteria, and votes for the winner of the EUFCN Location Award 2025, the best European Filming Location of 2025.
In parallel, the five finalists are subject to online voting by the public who determine the EUFCN Audience Location Award 2025.
The winners of the EUFCN Location Award 2025 and of the EUFCN Audience Location Award 2025 will be revealed during the EFM/Berlinale 2026 in February.
